Not everyone who punches is a monk seeking spiritual enlightenment and physical perfection. Sometimes, one is simply trained in the unarmed martial arts as part of study, street smarts, and hard work. All fighters can dabble in it with the Unarmed Fighting Style, but Pugilists lean into it stronger than most.

Those taking this subclass should take the Unarmed Fighting style to make full use of the abilities from this subclass.

=== Mobile Stance ===

At 3rd level, so long as you are in light or no armor you gain an additional +10 ft to your movement speed.

=== Unarmored Defense ===

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you may choose to gain either the barbarian's Unarmored Defense (gaining Constitution to AC) or a monk's Unarmored Defense (gaining Wisdom to AC). It only applies when unarmored, but you may still wield a shield. Once selected, this cannot be changed.

=== Fists of Power ===

Starting at 7th level, your unarmed attacks in count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

=== Snap Kick ===

At 7th level and beyond, you may make an extra unarmed attack as a bonus action, as long as you have made an attack as an action. The initial attack action need not be an unarmed strike.

=== Instinctive Evasion ===

At 10th level, your instinctive agility lets you dodge out of the way of certain area effects, such as a blue dragon's lightning breath or a fireball spell. When you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and only half damage if you fail.

In addition, you gain proficiency in Dexterity saves.

=== Adamantine Fists ===

Starting at 15th level, your unarmed attacks count as adamantine, dealing critical damage to objects.

=== Sudden Snap Kick ===

At 15th level and beyond, you may perform an unarmed attack at any time as a reaction. If you do so, you cannot use your subsequent bonus action to perform snap kick. You may still use your bonus action for other actions.

=== Snap Flurry ===

At 18th level and beyond, whenever you perform a snap kick or sudden snap kick, you may make two extra attacks instead of one.
