A great addition to the Grimoire Soulknife. Taking this feat the first time is a lot better than the second (the ranged AoE is "unlocked" taking it once), but I do like that you can get both shapes if you really want them.

And, yknow, blasting people with energy is totally cool.

Balance

It's straight blasty with a short range as a full-round action (move action to charge), but it scales with level and is basically unlimited. It's certainly better than the reference fighter level feats, and with the eventual range boost is probably on par or just below the reference rogue level feats. I'd say you should boost the balance. - TarkisFlux 01:10, May 6, 2010 (UTC)

Yep, wasn't sure about the balance point, but I'm more than willing to boost it. Note that with the Grimoire Soulknife it's not a full-round action anymore, since that one can use Psychic Strike as a swift action, and the damage on it is 18d8 (save for half) by level 20. --Ghostwheel 01:15, May 6, 2010 (UTC)
Saw the damage, missed the swift. More confident in the boost then. - TarkisFlux 01:17, May 6, 2010 (UTC)

Reflex?[edit]

since the psychic strike does psionic damage... shouldn't this be a will save for half damage rather than a reflex? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.27.103.48 (talkcontribs) at

Since it projects its damage in a line or a cone, avoiding it is less 'my mind is uber' and more 'getting the hell out of the way', just as with a Cone of Cold or a Lightning Bolt. Hence, a Reflex save seems more than apt. - MisterSinister 20:04, 7 September 2011 (UTC)
