Having gone over the mystery list... damn that's a lot of added utility for the low low price of Turn Undead. 3 per day isn't a lot of uses, but their selection is pretty wide and includes a lot of things that would otherwise not be cleric appropriate. Can I talk you into increasing the cost of these swaps? Like if you had to sacrifice a spell with a higher level than the mystery you were selectng (and could thus swap a level 1 for a fundamental)? - Tarkisflux Talk 23:03, 28 June 2012 (UTC)

I suspected that you'd bring this up. Yeah, I have no objection to this - I thought this was a tad strong. - MisterSinister 23:04, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Then why wait for the comment before adjusting :-p.
I'm actually not sure that 1 spell level is enough toning down, but 2 is annoying a few reasons and probably too expensive anyway. Did you consider a more limited list at all? - Tarkisflux Talk 23:08, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
I usually prefer a second opinion before I change my initial idea. Plus, it was a 20% certainty of 'too strong', which isn't enough to spur me to action. Based on your take, though, I rethought it and adjusted accordingly.
I have considered limiting the list, but I don't think that this is ideal - I would like to keep exactly this list, for thematic reasons mainly. A 1-level tax is actually fairly solid in my opinion, although I could potentially see having to give up one domain's worth of spells in addition to turning. If we do this, though, I suspect that a 1-level tax becomes too severe. Thoughts? - MisterSinister 23:12, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Domain sacrifice is a good idea actually. Give them a replacement domain power or let them spontaneously cast these with their domain slots in addition to their regular and it's probably fine. This would basically take over their second domain at that point, with a wider spell selection and a more limited access at higher levels. - Tarkisflux Talk 23:16, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
Doing exactly that then. - MisterSinister 23:18, 28 June 2012 (UTC)
