Is this a touch attack? -- Eiji-kun 06:24, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- It is not. It was intended to function more like a limitless supply of alchemist's fire or the like... I think. It's been a while. --Ganteka Future 06:48, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- But... alchemist fire is a touch attack. And given the puny damage (1d6+5 at level 20.... but hey, 25 for at least one bane'd attack) I'd wholeheartly suggest it to be so. Str doesn't seem to be added. -- Eiji-kun 07:22, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- Alright, had to go read some things and digest some references. I wanted to avoid touch attacks since the class doesn't have touch attacks from any other source. I figured making this one ability a touch attack would tip it toward being the go-to ability. It should definitely get some sort of key-ability damage addition. Though, Wisdom or Strength?
- Alternately, I rip off this ability: Deva Proselyte (3.5e Prestige Class)#Celestial Bolt --Ganteka Future 07:42, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
- I wouldn't think so, since you can't power attack with it (it's ranged) and the damage is tiny. It would be a favored for sneak attackers dipping grim, but alchemist fires are cheap, and eldritch blast is easier to get. That's up to you. But if you really want to avoid it, I suggest finding a fluff reason why it's not a touch attack (a javalin of solidified whatever-element maybe) and adding Wis to avoid MAD. The Celestial Bolt thing, while versitile, is overtly complex. -- Eiji-kun 08:14, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
