Parentheses[edit]

You're gonna need to change the name of the article, as the extra parentheses screw up the auto-tabling for the name on the classes page. --Ganteka Future 00:40, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

I don't know how to do that. But if you do I'd change it to Jade Archer _Revised for Ayron_ (3.5e Class).—Preceding unsigned comment added by Gd1w (talkcontribs) at

Comparison[edit]

So it looks like the difference between this Jade Archer and your previous one is that this makes arrows as an attack action instead of a standard action, they don't automatically threaten critical hits, and you are allowed to buff this one's damage. Whoever Ayron is, they're wrong. The old Jade Archer deals a reasonable, but not overly excessive amount of damage at basically every level. This one has a base damage value that's pretty pathetic, but can certainly be optimized to do far more somehow. Since all the Jade Archer gets from their class levels is a really neat attack, they're going to be more fun to actually play if they get to use as many of their feats and wealth as possible for diversifying their options. --Foxwarrior 02:47, 27 February 2012 (UTC)

My DM thought it was too powerful and his setting is different than normal. I changed it to accommodate that.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Gd1w (talkcontribs) at
Well, if you just did the revision for one campaign, and it's not the one you'd normally put out there, I'd recommend keeping it in a sandbox or as a subpage of the original rather than it's own thing. If you're comfortable with that sort of thing but don't know how to do it, leave a message here and we'll take care of it. - Tarkisflux Talk 22:55, 2 March 2012 (UTC)

Piercing Shot[edit]

It ignores 2 natural armor from being level 20, plus another 0, 1, or 2 points, with the exact probability of each depending on Dexterity modifier. I really don't think you should care about that level of detail. "Is there going to be a 5% better chance that I'll hit my target this turn? Is there? I better keep shaking this die in my hands to build suspense!" No, Gd1w, it is not suspenseful. Just ignore 3 points of natural armor and be done with it. --Foxwarrior (talk) 23:12, 16 January 2013 (UTC)

Balance Point[edit]

Honestly, this looks Monk (Low) level to me. Surgo (talk) 07:24, 3 February 2013 (UTC)

I think you must have missed the sniping from underground strategy. --Foxwarrior (talk) 09:59, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
I don't see how that's possible as it does not ignore cover bonuses to ac, and requires tunnels anyway. Stoll monk. -- Surgo
I believe the relevant passage is "At 13th level, the jade arrow exists only with respect to the target, it's creator, and the bow it is fired from. This means that the arrow is completely unaffected by anything other than something which is part of it's target when attempting to strike the target", but I guess the parenthetical statement "(it only ignores armor and shield bonuses to AC however)" makes it unclear whether you can shoot through obstacles with the same cover AC. --Foxwarrior (talk) 20:33, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
It says it only ignores armor and shield to AC, so that means...it only ignores those, regardless of what it's fluffed at. If there aren't any objections, I'd really like to drop this to Low balance -- it's got no business being anywhere close to Very High. Surgo (talk) 20:50, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
Objection. If the author wanted it to be VH, he should change the ability and whatever else needs doing. If the author doesn't want to change anything, they should be convinced to change the balance point on their own. Else we do the whole "balance disagreement procedure" thing. - Tarkisflux Talk 22:34, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
