Seems unnecessary[edit]
This sword isn't really viable: you won't wield it as a martial weapon, due to the greatsword being better, nor you will wield it one-handed, as the bastard sword is strictly better (if you want to spend a feat), not having any penalties. --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 16:50, 3 August 2022 (UTC)
Correction and balancing[edit]
I have modified a little the page: now the Warsword can be used as at no penalty in one hand if the wielder has Exotic Weapon Proficiency and a strenght score of at least 17. The warsword now gives a -2 penalty to attack rolls only if the strenght is between 13 and 16.... I think it's fine. I was thinking that characters proficient with the Warsword may treat it as a Bastard Sword or a Greatsword for the purpose of any of the following feats: Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialization, Improved Critical, Weapon Focus, and Weapon Specialization. I'm not very sure, since my idea was to consider the Warsword with its d12 19/20x2 as an autonomous niche of weapon.
Please, any suggestion and observation is very welcome!
Suggestion of improvement[edit]
What option do you think is better for this weapon, my friend:
1) treat it as a separate category of weapon (Warsword), where the opportunity of wielding it one-handed is given by the exotic weapon proficiency wich is the same of a bastard sword?
2) Treat it as Bastard sword, a Greatsword, or a Bastard sword and a Greatsword for purposes (for example: feats like Greater Weapon Focus, Greater Weapon Specialization, Improved Critical, Weapon Focus, and Weapon Specialization)?
I would appreciate your point of view.
