Spellgard Plated Mail[edit]

Fine mail covered by layers of laquered and enameled plates of various material, often plated in highly specialised materials, this armor provides unrivaled protection from magic and physical damage., runes are inscribed throughout this armor, humming with arcane power, you feel strangely at ease when you toutch it, as if the armor were protecting you allready

  1. If the character has some help, cut this time in half. A single character doing nothing else can help one or two adjacent characters. Two characters can't help each other don armor at the same time.

spellgard armor is treated with magically infused oils, laquers, enamels and other treatments, dressings, alchemical solutions and bindings to allow protection from spells, while nigh as powerful as enchanted armor, spellgard armor grants it's user resistance to spells equal to 6 + the armor's enhancement modifier, and provides DR magic 10, spellgard armour's magical reagents interfere with magic, so while the armor does not directly interfere with somatic components, arcane magic cannot be cast while wearing this armour, divine magic is unnaffected, as are spell-like and supernatural abilities relying on the innate magic of the wearer, in addition to these effects, magic targeting the armor itself has an additional 20% chance to fail from the armor's resistance itself, beneficial magical effects. Harmless effects, and the like are unnaffected by spellgard armor

Every suit of this armor is enchanted and unique, this is a sample for a +0 suit of masterwork spellgard armor crafted from masterwork leather and steel... However, this armor can be used to protect the wearer against specific types of magic as well, in such a case, consult your DM and have the cost, craft DC, and magic, adjusted accordingly, spellgard armor may be enchanted after it's creation, though all enchantments must be suppressed for seven full days within an antimagic field before the armor can be worked again, after magic is cast on the armor the first time after the armor has been removed from the antimagic field, whether the enchantment was sucessful or not, the armor resumes it's normal functioning

spellgard can be made from multiple materials, but usually has at least one leather or cloth material, and one metal material, due to it's unique nature, spellgard armor is allways masterwork, though the masterwork component comes in the form of the magical reagents that treat the armor and is different for every praticular suit.
