Many of you will ask why I separate my issues of sourcebooks, why I use material from another source in "transcriptions", etc. There is mainly one answer: Because I do what I want.

Of course, this isn't always the answer, and if you have a question, make your Sense Motive and don't be too intimidated by my awesomeness to ask.

Diablo Sourcebook Split

Good question, about my reasoning on the "multiple-issue" thought. Well, I thought that some people who play D&D and would like to simply incorporate one of these adventures based on the series, and also because there's so much material in the series that it couldn't possibly be placed into one sourcebook without creating an incredibly long tome that nobody would like to read.

And... I kinda felt like they should be separate.

User / talk page setup stuff

(in response to wanting to use the talk page for info, and the user page for sign ups...)

Just wanted to point out that your division of use for your pages is pretty much opposite of traditional wiki page splits and is probably not going to work out like you want without a lot of frustration and manual comment moving on your part, and confusion and potential anger on the part of anyone who is leaving the comments. The talk page of any page (including your user page) normally gets turned into a free-form chat room where other users leave messages about the page (in this case, the comments would be directed to you directly as it's associated with your user page). Since it's easier to respond in page rather than have to follow a conversation across multiple pages, responses are normally left directly after the comment indented by a number of ":" so that you can see where one commenter stops and another starts. Your response to my comment, for example, would normally appear here after my comment so others can read the answer without tracking down my user page. And as a result of that back and forth, talk pages do normally turn into free-form, asynchronous chat rooms.

In contrast, your user page is meant for purely informational purposes about whatever you want to put up there. It is very frowned upon to edit another user's user page (or subpage), even for grammar. Asking for people to put their name's on your user page is somewhat weird in that context. A lot of the informational stuff you have on talk here could probably go over there, and the request for contributors and comments can go here (or on the project talk page, or both). Which is pretty much like you used to have the user page before your big change-up earlier today.

You're not required to do it this way of course, but everyone else here is and it will make talking to you more difficult if you want to do things in basically the opposite way. - Tarkisflux ^Talk 21:35, 21 March 2013 (UTC)
