This small crystal orb is about the size of a golf ball.  When activated it expands into a sphere of force just large enough to hold you and allow you to move.  In there sphere you are protected from all damage which goes to the sphere (with hardness 5 and 5 hp/level of the creature activating it) except for bludgeoning or sonic damage, which is split half between the sphere and yourself, and [Light] effects which bypass the sphere entirely.  ''[[SRD:Disintegrate|Disintegrate]]'' instantly destroys the sphere.  Any damage to the sphere is automatically restored after 24 hours.  The sphere is airtight and refreshes air within it, and as such it floats on water and protects from gaseous poisons and fumes.  Deactivating the sphere is a standard action.

While you are inside the sphere you cannot attack out of it, as any attacks (as per ''[[SRD:Invisibility|invisibility]]'') disrupt the sphere and automatically deactivates it.  Your land speed improves by +10 ft, or +20 ft downhill, or no improvement while going uphill.  You cannot jump, climb, or swim, but you can move at half your land speed over the water as you float.  You can [[SRD:Bull Rush|Bull Rush]] as normal or [[SRD:Trample|trample]] dealing 1d6 + [[Strength]] and a half damage (for Medium creatures).  You can also run at x5 speed (or x4 speed in armor, or x6 speed with the [[SRD:Run|Run]] feat).

The item can be used for up to 1 hour per day, split up however you wish (minimum 1 minute increments).  When 1 hour has passed or when the command word is spoken, the sphere becomes a crystal orb again.   If the sphere is destroyed it reverts to its crystal orb form and cannot be activated for 24 hours.
