|fluff=It's elementary.  This jellybean is from the top shelf, which fell down when the ladder broke due to what is clearly mold and rot.  This ladder is normally stored in the basement, so there must be a moisture leak by the wall here.  But there are no pipes in this wall, meaning behind this wall is clearly a secret passage leading to an underground lake where aboleths have been secretly mind controlling the owners of this inn the entire time, revealing that the mayor is clearly a double agent!
|benefit=Make a [[Int]] or [[Wis]] check, DC 10.  You can observe your surroundings and successfully describe in perfect details the events in the past here based on apparently circumstantial evidence, up to 12 hours ago.  At DC 15, you can look back up to 24 hours.  At DC 20 you can look back a week.  For each +5 to the DC beyond, you look back one step farther into the past (a month, a year, 10 years, 100 years, 1000 years, etc).  On a failed check, you gain a hazy and abstract idea of what may have happened.  On a natural 1 (if it fails to reach DC 10), you come out with an incorrect or even opposite theory.
