== All Ability Skills ==

Skills are a thing any character should be able to pull off in some respect, but more often then not it is the realm of skill heavy classes like the rogue or bard, or intelligence heavy classes like the wizard.  Woe be to the simple fighter, he can never achieve any amount of athletics with his limited skill points and MAD.  Most variant rules fix this by simply giving more skill points all together, which is fine but somewhat minimizes skill focused classes.  With this variant rule, more skill points can be obtained, without always stepping on the rogue or bard's toes.

=== Changes ===

All ability scores now count towards the skill points you gain per level, not merely your [[Intelligence]] modifier.  The base skill points you gain from your class (such as barbarian's 4 skill points/level) behave as normal and can be placed anywhere on a one-for-one point-to-rank basis as though all skills were class skills. The skill points gained from a high ability modifier instead can only be placed in skills with the corresponding ability modifier.  For example, a high [[Strength]] modifier can be placed in skills such as Climb or Swim, while a high [[Charisma]] can be placed in Diplomacy or Use Magic Device.

You can choose to use your ability modifier granted skill points in a non-corresponding skill, but each skill point only counts for half.  For example, it takes two of your [[Strength]] modifier granted skill points per level to put a rank in Balance, a [[Dexterity]] skill.

Rules about class skills remain unchanged as normal.

*Skill points go towards archetypical skills for the class (barbarians gaining strength based skills, rogues gaining dexterity based skills, etc).

*Additional work when leveling up determining if a skill point derives from which ability score.
