This ancient curse magic conjures red, blood-like chains of pure magical energy that are shot at a target in range as a ranged touch attack. If the attack hits, you and your target become metaphysically tied together. The ''bloodied chains of Pyrrhos'' do not impede movement or action and remain wound around the target regardless of its distance from you, yet through these chains you can share your pain, injury, affliction and even death with your enemy. The chains act as a ''[[SRD:Dimensional Anchor|dimensional anchor]]'' that bars any sort of dimensional or planar travel, making it impossible for the target to escape the curse by [[SRD:Teleport|teleporting]] or [[SRD:Plane Shift|plane shifting]].

If the ''bloodied chains of Pyrrhos'' successfully establish a connection with the target, half of the damage that you take is inflicted through the chain upon the linked target, as an involuntary ''[[SRD:Shield Other|shield other]]'' effect. Whenever you are forced to make a [[SRD:Fortitude|Fortitude]] or [[SRD:Will|Will]] save against a harmful effect, the linked target must make a similar save. Any non-damaging effect that affects you without a save will affect your linked target without a save, as well. Note that effects transmitted through the chains use ''your'' resistances and immunities, so even if the target is normally immune to a certain damage type or condition, if the damage type or the condition is shared through the chains it is affected as though it were you.

A trapped creature can break out of the chains with a successful [[SRD:Strength|Strength]] check, or a grapple or [[SRD:Escape Artist Skill|Escape Artist]] check. The chains' break DC is 24 + half your [[SRD:Caster Level|caster level]] (rounded down) and they counter-grapple at a modifier equal to your [[SRD:Caster Level|caster level]] +12.

The chains can be [[SRD:Dispel Magic|dispelled]], but at +5 to the dispel DC. The chains have 10 hit points per [[SRD:Caster Level|caster level]], an effective Armor Class of 15 + your [[SRD:Caster Level|caster level]], [[SRD:Damage Reduction|DR]]/[[SRD:Adamantine|adamantine]] equal to your [[SRD:Caster Level|caster level]] and 50% [[Hinder Energy (3.5e Creature Ability)|hindrance]] to all five types of energy.

''[[SRD:Freedom|Freedom]]'' counters and removes the chains, as does a successful ''[[SRD:Break Enchantment|break enchantment]]'' or a ''[[SRD:Limited Wish|limited wish]]''.

Note: A creature with [[SRD:Spell Resistance|spell resistance]] can't stop the chain from binding it, but every time you take damage or must save against an effect, you check against the creature's [[SRD:Spell Resistance|spell resistance]] to see if the effect is shared.</onlyinclude>
