|reason=The class needs a jump boosting item to be really effective, which is a bit of a downer. It doesn't have a lot of breadth compared to lots of other VH classes, but it's short enough to fit into most other martial builds so that can be forgiven.

Really though, a five level detour is worth it to fall a hundred feet through a building and still murder a monster at the bottom. Good times...

:::::This is more of a nitpick, but every instance of "spear" in this really ought to be replaced with "polearm" or something of the like.  As is, a Dragoon can't use a Halberd, Trident, or Glaive for their stuff.  Which is silly.  --[[User:Undead Knave|Undead_Knave]] ([[User talk:Undead Knave|talk]]) 08:08, 12 January 2014 (UTC)

The class needs a jump boosting item to be really effective, which is a bit of a downer. It doesn't have a lot of breadth compared to lots of other VH classes, but it's short enough to fit into most other martial builds so that can be forgiven.

Really though, a five level detour is worth it to fall a hundred feet through a building and still murder a monster at the bottom. Good times...

Well I know what I'm playing next time there's a game. I love dragoons, and this fits perfectly.

It's got a nice set of abilities for jumping on people and beating them to death, but I prefer Very High classes to have more depth and variety. Property damage makes things a little better, but isn't very specific as to which unattended objects take the damage, or whether sufficiently damaging an object lets them move through it.

Has the scale really moved up that much? Well, it can dish out lots of damage with the auto-x4 critical, high jump checks, and the level 1 ability of tripling. That said, it's not very versatile. I thought it was enough of a big trick to put it "Very High" though. Surgo 17:24, 16 June 2012 (UTC)
