: Perhaps after 16 hours of "activity" in a plane without a day/night cycle, you automatically turn to stone for 8 hours, and you can't pre-emptively do so, and time ticks even if you move between planes (and continues where it left off if you hop for a moment to a material plane). Same with space. That would probably be most fair. --[[User:Ghostwheel|Ghostwheel]] ([[User talk:Ghostwheel|talk]]) 00:47, 27 April 2015 (UTC)

::Technically, I think by RAW nothing would happen on timeless places til you left the plane (which is fair, since how many games end up exclusively on the Astral, the main plane where this happens).  Other planes without a sun/moon but flowing time still have cycles so I imagine you would still turn to stone at "night", even if night on the Plane of Fire is almost impossible to determine from day.

As a Gargoyles fan, I like this. How does this apply though in, say, Spelljammer or when adventuring in arctic areas where it might be day or night for weeks at a time? Or on the various planes that don't have a day/night cycle?

Only thing that seems odd is giving this a balance range as they don't particularly apply to flaws which are quite standardized and whose creation and approximate penalties are outlined in Unearthed Arcana.

Woo, Gargoyles fans! Deleted the balance range, that was a copypasta error, thanks for noticing. The arctic setting could be great if you're doing the Al Pacino "Insomnia" thing and the sun never sets for weeks, but not so great when it becomes all "30 Days of Night." So that's a trade-off. Planar travel to places without day/night cycles.... I don't have a tough-but-fair solution for that. I'm open to suggestions. --Spanambula (talk) 23:22, 26 April 2015 (UTC)

Technically, I think by RAW nothing would happen on timeless places til you left the plane (which is fair, since how many games end up exclusively on the Astral, the main plane where this happens). Other planes without a sun/moon but flowing time still have cycles so I imagine you would still turn to stone at "night", even if night on the Plane of Fire is almost impossible to determine from day.
Ghost's plan is also fine. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 00:58, 27 April 2015 (UTC)
