If the target lack such defenses you deal additional damage equal to the weapon base damage as well as any enhancement-based damage (such as [[SRD:Flaming|Flaming]]). If the weapon is a thrown weapon or composite bow you also add half your [[Strength]] modifier to the extra damage. This still count as a single attack, dealing with damage reduction only once and do not grant an extra attack roll.

Splitting[edit]

The splitting enhancement allows the enhanced weapon to create multiple projectiles, which may be used for concentrated fire or striking multiple opponents. When firing a splitting weapon you may fire two projectiles instead of one. You may aim the second projectile at the same target or at another target within 20 feet of the initial target. The splitting enhancement can be added only to projectile weapons or thrown weapons.

If you fire at the same target you do not roll two attack rolls, instead you roll to beat concealment and miss chance twice, taking the better result. If the foe lacked such defense, the attack deals additional damage equal to the weapon base damage (but not any other sources of damage). If the weapon is a thrown weapon or composite bow you also add half your Strength modifier to the extra damage. Attacks made with a splitting weapon count as a single or two attacks when beneficial, such as when dealing with DR or the Deflect Arrows feat.

If you fire at different target you take a -4 penalty to hit on both attacks, but both projectiles deal full damage if they hit (including any precision damage).

Moderate Conjuration (Creation); CL 7th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, arrowsplitChampions of Ruin; Price: +2 bonus.
