Burning Feces (Ex) | As a ranged attack, a bonnacon may let lose projectile scat. Due to the nature of the bonnacon, the scat ignites upon contact with the air. This attack has a range of 200 feet. The scat deals 1d6 bludgeoning damage on impact and 1d6 fire damage. It always breaks apart on impact. |
Cloven Hooves | A bonnacon's hooves deal piercing, slashing and bludgeoning damage as well as deal triple damage on a critical hit. However, hooves make it poor at grappling. A bonnacon suffers a -4 penalty on grapple checks (noted above). |
Skills[edit]
Skills: A bonnacon gains a +4 racial bonus on Balance, Listen, Spot and Survival skill checks. A bonnacon also gains an additional +4 bonus on Balance checks for being a quadruped.
Strategies and Tactics[edit]
Bonnacons are survivors, not fighters. They flee from danger readily, resorting to ranged attacks to keep predators at bay. If cornered, they will put up a brutal, loud fight to survive. A bonnacon will grunt and moo loudly to warn nearby bonnacons of danger.
Ecology[edit]
Environment: Bonnacons prefer to roam temperate or warm grasslands and scrublands where they feed on tough plants. Occasionally, they find their way into rocky foothills and steppes.
Typical Physical Characteristics: Bonnacons are built much like oxen, with stout bodies. They sport a long mane down their necks. Their bodies are covered in a thick, reddish hide with a pebbled texture. Their tails are long and flexible, with a tuft of coarse hair at the end, typically used to swat away flies. Their hooves are cloven and black. A pair of curved, ram-like horns protrude from their heads. On mature bulls, these horns grow quite large. However, due to their placement, they are sadly useless for fighting.
Behavior[edit]
Bonnacons gather in small herds with a single bull and 1d4 cows.
These creatures are rarely domesticated as herd animals, due to their capacity to burn down enclosures and set grasslands ablaze when flustered.
