Plasma Rifle

1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.


The plasma rifle is a bulky energy weapon which fire a short stream of plasma which causes large amount of tissue and physical damage. It has the benefits of a moderate range and is capable of scorching even well-armored targets. If a plasma rifle attack misses the target's AC, but hits the target's touch AC it still deals it's weapon damage to the target, without any other damage from other sources. A plasma rifle's damage is typeless but is reduced by DR/ -as if it was physical. A plasma rifle completely ignore hardness of 10 or less, or ignores 5 points of hardness when used to attack objects with a hardness of 11 or higher. Finally because of the bulk of the bolt of energy, a plasma weapon shot deals normal damage to swarms.

A plasma rifle consumes a single energy cell whenever it fired, it can hold up to 10 energy cells and is reloaded as a full-round action which provokes an attack of opportunity.

A wielder that has exotic weapon proficiency with the plasma rifle can add their Dexterity bonus to the plasma rifle's damage roll.
