A creature that fails a will save against this spell is unknowingly and permanently made vulnerable to all future mind-affecting spells of the caster; they are allowed no save against the effects, although SR continues to apply. Divination attempts to discover this magical tampering fail, though a DC 40 Sense Motive check can determine that something subtle is off. The creature acts as normal, but cannot resist your mental spells.

The original caster may use scrying as a standard action at will on the target, no save, using the focus for this spell as a medium. While scrying they may also cast any mind-affecting spell upon the creature, if its on the same plane, regardless of normal range limitations. Protections against such spells are effective as normal, with the exception of those that enhance saves, as no save is allowed. The creature is allowed a WILL save to notice that it has been affected by the caster's mind-affecting spells if normally allowed to do so, but otherwise does not realize the influence; this does not include the seed of influence spell itself.

The caster may hold the spell as nearly complete for up to one minute per class level, completing it with the final touch of the focus to the target creature.

This is considered a powerful curse, and can only be magically lifted with limited wish and greater effects. Should the target creature ever gain possession of the focus object, or should it be destroyed, the effects of this spell are ended.

Focus: A gold signet ring (caster's signet) inscribed with the name of the target and touched to it at the culmination of casting, worth 1000 gp.
