Many will tell you that Oupals are a myth, that they are an ancient race that once flourished but had vanished. Many Oupals still exist, and in greater numbers than many think. They are figures of great psionic education and are artists in perfecting the mind. They are great lore masters and they push themselves far beyond the limits of most natural creatures that live around them.

Play an Oupal if you want...

  • To become a perfected individual of the psionic arts
  • To push yourself beyond the limits of other creatures trained in the psionic masteries
  • To be a member of a race that favors the Invoker, Psion, and Wizard classes.

Physical Qualities[edit]

An individual Oupal is mainly a human figure--the men mainly bald and the women with short amber, blonde, or brown hair-- with deep, featureless eyes of pure black, gold, turquoise, or lavender. They sometimes tattoo their heads with emblems or symbols of their trainings and studies-- signifying their right to pass on their qualities to the greater generations. As they are a perfected society of individuals, they also have flaws. One of which is, without doubt, their ability to take on many physical challenges as they focus their mind so well that they use it more often than they do manipulating their surroundings with their bare hands. A normal Oupal can tend to live longer than an average human-- about 20-25 years longer. At the age of maturity, an average oupal would have amassed as much knowledge as an elder human of 40 years.

Playing an Oupal[edit]

Many Oupal are brazened and bold individuals with minds as tough as adamantine-- they focus on one idea and turn it into many ideas with little difficulty. When they are faced with a difficult challenge, they use their mind to solve it in many ways more than one. With that in mind, they have become more reliant on their own mind that they quickly lose sight on their own physical capabilities-- making them essentially weaker in stature. With weaknesses comes strengths, as they takes this weakness and turns it into a boon of power-- a focus of the mind. Since they are better at managing multiple tasks, they do not lose sight of what is currently happening around them.

Oupal Characteristics: Bold, collective, disciplined, flawed, inquisitive, intuitive, laborious, mind of steel, self-reliant

Male Names: Arduris, Baern, De'lin, Ga'than, Iruhn, Kosaf, Maldrik, Nordan, Rustaf, Talnara, Walder

Female Names: Belana, Citana, Eline, Hal'tia, Kasana, Le'sara, Li'yura, Oskani, Sa'tiri, Ur'aina, Zeldina

Oupal Adventurers[edit]

Three sample Oupal adventurers are described below.

Baern, an oupal invoker, is a great figure of divine practices that stretches beyond the normal limits of many others. He is, in essence, an idividual amongst the gods, but his own spirit lies on the mortal realm. His ideal is that once he pushes himself beyond the barriers of the world that he will lead the way out of the darkness and lead the others to indentured sanctuary amongst the gods and their protection.

Kasana, an oupal psion, focuses her mind to create deep dents into the heart of the enemy and storms the battlefront with ribbons of psionic daggers-- creating a buffer to keep her enemies separate from her allies. Her spirit belongs to her people, and she communicates very well with her friends-- all the while gaining a better perspective of the world around her.

Talnara, an oupal wizard, trusts that his psionic energies won't mingle to far within the caustic soup of the arcane world. With his knowledge, he creates rain formed from his memories, summons balls of fire that stings with bitter thoughts, and freezing mists that cloud his foes with a wall of lethal psionic energy-- crushing their perception of the world.
