Class Features
All of the following are class features of the Battle Chef.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Battle Chefs are proficient with simple weapons, as well as the battle axe, torch, Bonesaw, Butcher Axe, Great Cleaver, Swordfish, and War Spoon. Battle Chefs are proficient with light, medium, and heavy armor.
Doneness Detector (Ex): Whenever the Battle Chef deals damage to a creature, he finds out how much health it has remaining.
Cure Meat (Su): If the Battle Chef kills a creature or touches a corpse, that corpse is cured of all diseases and poisons currently affecting it.
Killer Snack (Ex): Anyone standing within reach of a creature the Battle Chef killed can take a bite out of it as a move action. Doing so heals whoever eats this delicious snack for a number of hit points equal to the Battle Chef's Wisdom modifier × the creature's CR.
Killer Snacks need to be eaten fresh: a corpse that's been sitting around for more than 5 minutes no longer has any wondrous Killer Snack properties.
Also, smaller creatures contain fewer servings of Killer Snacks: A Diminutive or Fine creature is worth no servings, a Tiny creature is worth 1, and for every size category larger than Tiny, the number of servings multiplies by 4 (not following the D&D multiplication rule).
Recipes: At level 2, if the Battle Chef uses specific methods to kill a creature, he can improve the benefits characters get from the Battle Chef's Killer Snack. Each creature's corpse can only be affected by one recipe; if multiple recipes qualify, the Battle Chef must choose one.
Stir Fry: The creature must have been moved against its will at least once in the past minute, and been killed with Fire damage.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack are healed for an additional 1d4 points of health per CR of the creature.
Deep Fry: The creature must have been covered in batter when it died, taken fire damage in the past minute, and some form of grease, oil, or fat must have been present in its square at the time of death.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack gain Damage Reduction 1/- per CR of the creature for 5 minutes.
Stew: The creature must have been killed by heat damage while submerged in liquid.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack gain a +3 bonus to their Fortitude saves for 5 minutes.
Roast: The creature must have been killed by fire damage.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack gain a +2 bonus to their Strength and Dexterity for 5 minutes.
Flambe: The creature must have been killed by fire damage caused by being on fire.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack gain a +2 bonus to their Charisma and Constitution for 5 minutes.
Marinated: The creature must have been killed by Acid damage.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack gain a +2 comfort bonus to charisma based checks as well as to Heal checks, and Concentration checks for 5 minutes. The eaters also get the +2 comfort on checks to resist being intimidated as well as on rolls against fear effects for the same 5 minutes.
Steamed: The creature must have been killed while within some sort of mist, fog or cloud.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack are healed of 1 point of ability damage to any ability score.
Skewered: The creature must have been killed by piercing damage or while impaled.
The Killer Snack's total servings is reduced by half, but can be eaten as a swift action.
Chilled: The creature must have been killed by cold damage.
Characters who eat more than one serving of a Killer Snack of this recipe in a single encounter suffer a cumulative -2 penalty to all rolls as a debilitating brain freeze overwhelms them for the duration of the encounter.
Oven Breath (Su): At level 3, the Battle Chef gains a breath weapon that deals 1d6 points of Fire damage per character level in a cone that's 30' +5' per Battle Chef level long. A Reflex save (DC 10 + half character level + Wisdom modifier) for half damage is permitted. Using Oven Breath is a standard action, and may only be done once every 2 rounds.
At 5th level, the breath weapon's area of effect is filled with a transparent heat cloud that deals 1 point of fire damage per character level to any creature that begins its turn in it. The heat cloud lasts for 2 rounds.
Batter Slap (Su): At level 4, the Battle Chef gains the ability to coat everything in a line that's 60' +10' per Battle Chef level long with batter. Creatures who succeed on a Reflex save (DC 10 + half character level + Wisdom modifier) avoid being coated. Creatures who are coated with batter get a -10' penalty to all movement speeds, and a -2 penalty to attack rolls, spot checks, and listen checks. A creature can spend a full-round action to remove all batter from everything in its space. Using Batter Slap is a standard action, and may only be done once every minute.
Flavorings: At level 6, the Battle Chef gains a new set of things he can do to his victims in order to improve the Killer Snack they create. Each creature's corpse can be affected both by one recipe and one Flavoring; if multiple flavorings qualify, the Battle Chef must choose one.
Spicy: The creature must have been killed while under the influence of Wisdom damage.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack may immediately take another move action, but get a stacking -1 penalty to Wisdom for 5 minutes. Characters who have no Wisdom score are unaffected.
Sour: The creature must have been killed with Acid damage.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack are cured of all diseases, and become immune to disease for 5 minutes.
Disgusting: The creature must have been killed with Vile damage.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack lose health instead of gaining it, and any bonuses to ability scores they would receive from the Killer Snack are penalties instead.
Tender: The creature must have taken damage every round in the last 5 rounds before its death.
Characters who eat the Killer Snack get a +2 bonus to attack rolls for 5 minutes.
Preserved: The creature must have been suffering from something that slows down its flow of time during its death.
The Killer Snack lasts for one hour instead of five minutes.
Kosher: The creature must have been splashed with holy water prior to its death.
Undead, fiends, and evil divine casters who eat the Killer Snack lose health instead of gaining it, and any bonuses they would receive are penalties instead. In addition, evil divine casters are treated as falling out of favor with their patron for a number of rounds equal to the Battle Chef's wisdom bonus.
Treif: The creature must have been splashed with unholy water prior to its death.
Metallic dragons, celestials, and good divine casters who eat the Killer Snack lose health instead of gaining it, and any bonuses they would receive are penalties instead. In addition, good divine casters are treated as falling out of favor with their patron for a number of rounds equal to the Battle Chef's wisdom bonus.
Eucharistic: The creature must be killed by a Battle Chef who has a patron deity and at least one level in a divine casting class.
Anyone who does not share the religious beliefs of the Battle Chef cannot benefit from the Killer Snack. Anyone who follows a God or belief that is directly opposed to the Battle Chef's lose health from eating the Killer Snack instead of gaining it.
