Bodyshifter

A bodyshifter is essentially a mix between the Druid and the Monk, instead of casting spells and turning into animal the bodyshifter focus on only partially transforming her body. The bodyshifter use her own body to her best advantage, smashing her foes with powerful unarmed strikes and adapt to the situation by strategically shifting her body. The bodyshifter use a point allocation mechanic, she may invest points in powerful bodyshifts or in less powerful bodymorphs. However she may only have a single active bodyshift, but an unlimited amount of bodymorphs. Additionally bodymorphs can be easily allocated and re-allocated, while bodyshifts require a 10 minute meditation period.

Making a Bodyshifter

Abilities: The bodyshifter do not rely on any particular abilities for it class feature and receive ability scores bonuses to it physical ability scores. What ability scores are important depend on the character and it chosen role in the part.

Races: Any races may be bodyshifters.

Alignment: Any.

Starting Gold: As Fighter.

Starting Age: Simple.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Bodyshifter.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: A bodyshifter is proficient with all simple and martial weapon, all shields (except tower shields) but no armor.

Shift Points: A bodyshifters possess a number of shift points she may invest between various Bodyshifts and bodymorphs. Her shift points are never expended instead they are invested between these abilities.

AC Bonus (Ex): A bodyshifter gain an armor bonus to AC equal to 4 + 1/2 Class level.

Unarmed Strike: At 1st level, a bodyshifter gains Improved Unarmed Strike as a bonus feat. A bodyshifter ’s attacks may be with either fist interchangeably or even from elbows, knees, and feet. This means that a bodyshifter may even make unarmed strikes with her hands full. There is no such thing as an off-hand attack for a bodyshifter striking unarmed. A bodyshifter may thus apply her full Strength bonus on damage rolls for all her unarmed strikes.

Usually a bodyshifter ’s unarmed strikes deal lethal damage, but she can choose to deal nonlethal damage instead with no penalty on her attack roll. She has the same choice to deal lethal or nonlethal damage while grappling.

A bodyshifter ’s unarmed strike is treated both as a manufactured weapon and a natural weapon for the purpose of spells and effects that enhance or improve either manufactured weapons or natural weapons.

A bodyshifter also deals more damage with her unarmed strikes than a normal person would, as shown on Table: The Bodyshifter . The unarmed damage on Table: The Bodyshifter is for Medium bodyshifter . A Small bodyshifter deals less damage than the amount given there with her unarmed attacks, while a Large bodyshifter deals more damage; see Table: Bodyshifter Unarmed Damage by Size.

Bodyshift (Su): The main ability of the Bodyshifter, this ability allow the bodyshifter to radically transform her body. A bodyshifter may only have a single bodyshift active at any time, although she may switch between them as a swift action. The bodyshifter may invest shift points into her various bodyshifts, she allocate those points within a 10 minute meditation. She may only place as many point in a single body shift equal to one third of her class level (rounded up).

The bodyshifter start knowing a single bodyshift at 1st and learn another at 2nd level and 4th and each 4 levels thereafter, selecting them from the list below.

Bodymorph (Su): The bodyshifter also possess the ability to do minor alteration to her body, unlike bodyshifts she may have as many bodymoprhs active at the same time as she please. Acquiring a bodymorph require a move action, each bodymorph require a number of base shift points (number in the parentheses next to each individual entry) to be invested into them and some can be augmented further. Unlike a bodyshift, you may reallocate all points invested in a bodymorph as a move action. Much like bodyshift you may only invest a number of shift points in a single bodymorph equal to 1/3rd of your class levels, this include the initial investment.

Unlike bodyshifts, the bodyshifter know all body morph available to her from the start:

Big Hand (1): The bodyshifter gain the benefits of Oversize Grip even if you do not meet the prerequisites, additionally you count as one size category larger for the purpose of dealing unarmed damage.

Big Head (1): The bodyshifter fall under the effect of big head mode.

Cosmetic Morph (1): The bodyshifter change her appearance radically, she may make cosmetic changes to herself within the limits of the disguise self spells. The changes are a transmutation effect and is not fooled by true seeing or similar abilities. If the bodyshifter invest an additional point in this bodymoprh the limit of her transformation are now dictated by alter self.

Fast Legs (1): The bodyshifter's base land speed increase by 10 feet, for each additionally points invested in this morph the speed increase double.

Flexible Spine (1): The bodyshifter gain the benefits of the Flecible feat even if she does not meet the prerequisites.

Merform (2): The bodyshifter fall under the effect of merform.

Regenerative Cells (1): The bodyshifter gain gain one third of her class level (rounded up) in rapid healing, she also gain the ability to regrows her limbs within 3d6 minutes, re-attach them and survive headless. If she invest an additional point it become fast healing instead. If she invest two additional points it become pseudo-regeneration.

Stunning Look (1): The bodyshifter gain the Too Hot traits and the ability to use Fascinate as Bard of her level (DC 10 +1/2 HD + Charisma modifier) at will.

Suction Cups (2): The bodyshifter fall under the effect of spider climb.

Superstrong Legs (1): The bodyshifter gain a +20 bonus on Jump checks, she add the distance she may use Extend Limbs to the distance traveled with each jump.

Masterwork Body (Ex): A 1st level boydshifter receive Masterwork Body as a bonus feat.

Shapechanger (Ex): A 1st level bodyshifter gain the shapechanger subtype.

Extend Limbs (Su): A 2nd level the bodyshifter has learned how to extend her limbs, this allow her to manipulate objects outside of her up to 20 feet outside of her reach. While she may manipulate objects (such as dragging a box or activating a level) she is unable to use this ability to attack or activate magic items. The distance she can extend her limbs double at 7th and each 5 level thereafter.

Efficient Physique (Ex): A 3rd level bodyshifter gain a +1 bonus to two of her physical ability scores, at 6th level and each 3 level thereafter may increase two again by 1. She may apply to increase to different ability scores each time.

Morphic Endurance: A 3rd level Bodyshifter gain Grimoire Endurance and Grimoire Diehard as a bonus feats. She may use her class level +3 instead of Survival to determine the bonus granted by Grimoire Endurance.

Variable Build (Su): A 3rd level bodyshifter gain both powerful build and slight build as her form shift whenever it would be advantageous.

Morphic Reach (Ex): At 4th level and 8th and 16th level the formshifter's natural reach increase by 5'.

Variable Adaptation (Su): A 5th level the bodyshifter is capable of spontaneously adapt to her environment, growing gills underwater or a heatproof skin in a extremely hot environment. After staying 3 consecutive rounds in a particular environment she adapt to it as per adapt body. Despite being able to adapt to almost anything she still may still need to breath and thus might still suffocate in airless environment.

At 15th level she adapt to her environment instantaneous.

Mettle (Ex): A 6th level bodyshifter gain the benefits of mettle as an hexbladeCW, but only for fortitude saves.

Fortified Body (Ex): A 10th level bodyshifter has such a control over her body that she can shift her internal organs out of harm's way and control her immune system perfectly, she become immune to critical hit, diseases and poisons.

Extraordinary Shifts (Ex): A 11th level bodyshifter's supernatural class feature become extraordinary.

Biological Immortality (Ex): A 13th level bodyshifter become immortal, she may change her apparent age at will as a move action. She no longer suffer any penalties from aging and any penalty she previously suffered from are removed, she still accrue bonus from aging however. Additionally she become immune to ability damage, ability drain, [death]-effect and energy drain.

At 19th level when the bodyshifter dies, if her body is not damaged (as per raise dead) she return to life 1d10 minutes after death with no level loss or other penalties. If her body is too damage she still decay into Primordial Soup.

Primordial Soup (Ex): When a 14th level bodyshifter dies, her body decay into a strange ooze-like soup within 1d4 days of death. The soup is treated as acid for all creatures, any creatures dying within becoming part of it. If it left to it own device for at least a year however the bodyshifter emerge from it with a new body identical to her old and the soup dissolve. The soup can be used as a focus for any resurrection spell, speeding up the process to 24 hours.

Evershifting Chaos (Ex): A 20th level bodyshifter may now use two bodyshifts at the same time instead of one.

List of Bodyshifts

The Bodyshifter learn her bodyshift from the following list, all boydhsift's augment are cumulative with each other unless specifically mentioned otherwise.

Amorphous Form: The bodyshifter's shift the matter of her body, turning it into amorphous jelly instead of skin, flesh and bone. The transformation may or may not be readily apparent. You gain all immunities of ooze except mind-affecting effect given that you are not mindless. Additionally in this form you can more readily change your shape, allowing you to count as four size category smaller for the purpose of squeezing through tight spaces.

Augment: If the bodyshifter invest a single shift point and for each point thereafter she may select one of the ability below:

Digestive Cells: The bodyshifter's cells all become capable of digestion, much like an ooze. She may deal 2d6 damage to any creature which come in bodily contact with her (through her unarmed attack, using an unarmed attack on the bodyshifter, being grappled, grappling, etc).
Objectmoprh: The bodyshifter may alter her shape further, she may turn into objects as per objectmoprh (self only)
Mutable Bodymorph:The bodyshifter gain a single floating shifting point which may be invested in any bodymoprh as a free action, she may select this augment multiple time gaining an additional floating shift point each time.

If she invest three or more points she may also select from the list below:

Absorbing Cells: Any creature killed by the acid damage of Digestive Cell are absorbed into your form, healing you for a number of hit point equal to the creatures's HD x3. All of the creature's equipment drop on the ground, however you may decide upon absorption to automatically equip any number of them as a free action, assuming the appropriated boyd slots are free. A creature killed by Absorbing Cells are completely absorbed into your body and thus leave no corpse behind. This augment require the Digestive Cell upgrade.
Gaseous Form: The bodyshifter gain the ability to use greater gaseous form at will (self only).
Mimic Morph: The bodyshifter gain the ability to replicate mimic morph at will, this augment require objectmorph.

Dense Body: The bodyshifter become one size category smaller as per reduce person, however her weight do not change and she do not take a penalty to Strength. While in this bodyshift she gain DR 3/- and stability (as a dwarf).

Augment: For each shift point the bodyshifter invest in this bodyshift the DR/- increase by 2 and she receive a +2 bonus to her Strength.

Battle Form: The bodyshifter change her body in a deadly battle machine, in this bodyshift the bodyshifter fall under the effect of barkskin and gain armor spikes and shield blades which fall under the effect of greater magic weapon and deal the bodyshifter's unarmed damage (in piercing and slashing respectively) and carry the same enhancement as the bodyshifter's unarmed strike.

Augment: For each shift point the bodyshifter invest in this bodyshift she gain a [fighter] bonus feat she meet the prerequisite for, she may change which feat she select when she meditate to reassign her shift points.

Elastic Body: The bodyshifter's body become extremely elastic and thus can be stretched far past it normal breaking points. The bodyshifter halves any source of bludgeoning damage dealt to her, minimize falling damage and her natural reach increase by 10 ft. She double the distance she can use Extend Limbs over. She also count as two size category smaller for the purpose of squeezing through tight spaces.

Augment: If the bodyshifter spend 1 point she double the reach increase and the distance she can stretch her limbs, both triple if she invest 2 points, quadruple for 3 and so on.

Feral Form: The bodyshifter gain a single feral strike of her choice from the Mythic Beast list. The shift to a feral form grant additional abilities, she gain three abilities on the beast shape I list.

Augment: For each shift points invested in this bodyshift, the bodyshifter may select an additional feral strike, also gaining access to the Tail Feral Strike. If she invested three points the she may select four abilities from the beast shape II, and if she invest four points she may select five abilities from the beast shape III list.

Giant Size: The bodyshifter's size increase substantially growing a single size category, she gain the reach/space and all other characteristic from changing size, with the exception of the changes noted below.

Augment: If the bodyshifter spend 2 shifting points she may increase one additionally size category larger and one additional size category for each points invested thereafter.

Living Buzz-Saw: The bodyshifter turn into a grotesque living buzz-saw, shifting it body and spinning very rapidly upon herself. The bodyshifter gain a hover speed equal to her base land speed (clumsy). More importantly she can fly through the space of other creatures and objects, when she does so she automatically make an unarmed attack at her highest base attack bonus, this attack deal slashing damage, bypass DR/Adamantine and Hardness of 20 or less and inflict 1d6 points of bleed. This attack may only be done once per creature per round.

Augment: If the bodyshifter invest a single shift point in this bodyshift her hover speed increase to twice her land speed.

If she invest two she deal 1d8 points of bleed instead of 1d6.

If she invest three her hover speed become a fly speed (clumsy).

If she invest four she deal unarmed damage as if she was one size category larger and deal 1d10 points of bleed instead of 1d8.

If she invest five she deal 2d6 points of bleed instead of 1d10.

If she invest six she she deal unarmed damage as if she was two size category larger and ignore all DR and Hardness.

Tiny Size:The bodyshifter's size decrease substantially, shrinking a single size category, she gain the reach/space and all other characteristic from changing size, with the exception of the changes noted below.

Augment: If the bodyshifter spend 2 shifting points she may shrink one additionally size category smaller and one additional size category for each points invested thereafter.

Winged Arms: The bodyshifter's arms turn into large wings, in this bodyshift she cannot use weapons with either of hands and any gauntlets and bracers she had meld into her form. However She has a fly speed equal to twice her base land speed with poor maneuverability, but can only fly up to her Constitution modifier rounds at a time (minimum 1), and must rest twice as long as they flew before attempting to fly again.

Augment: If the bodyshifter invest a single shift point into this bodyshift her maneuverability increase to average.

If she invest two points she may fly indefinitely without resting.

If she invest three points her wings become strong enough to replicate the effect of gale force each 1d4 rounds and her maneuverability increase to good.

If she invest four points she gain the ability to use wings of thunder as stance.

If she invest five points she may use gale force and hurricane disc each 1d4 rounds.

If she invest six points her fly speed triple and she may use hurricane force reach 1d4 rounds.
