Collector Homunculus
This white rat has a strange monocle looking device over one eye, and its paws and tail are made of silver. It gleam with a strange intellect as it sorts through a pile of treasure.
Collector Homunculi are creatures created by the spell Ell's Handy Homunculus. They are used for boring sorting and polishing of treasured items, a dull task for most but the collector seems to love it. They can slowly attract and sort an entire pile of treasure with their minds, and polish it all to pristine beauty. They are smarter than most, and though they don't talk, they come off as "sophisticated".
Collectors have a +8 racial bonus to Appraise checks.
While generally constructs are neutral, a homunculi picks up the alignment of its creator on casting.
Combat
Handy homunculi make poor weapons. Collectors shun combat and will escape at nearest opportunity. They like wading in piles of shiny treasure, and polishing anything that dulls, almost obsessively.
- Gathering and Polishing (Su)
The collector may gather and sort items, and then polish them in the same manner as a prestidigitation spell, at will.
Construction
The body is made of fur and metal (namely gold and silver), with the core crystal often embedded in one eye. A drop of the caster's blood is dropped in the open palms of the inanimate statue, which binds fur to metal and animates it on casting Ell's Handy Homunculus. The entire cost of supplies equals 500 gp.
Assembling the body requires a DC 15 Craft (metalsmithing) or Craft (taxidermy) check.
CL 1st; Ell's Handy Homunculus, Prestidigitation; Never sold; Cost 500 gp + 25 XP.
