Caster Level: 7
Aura: Moderate Necromancy

A knife that coats itself in a subtle, but lethal venom. It isn't very much to look at.

This butterfly knife is a medium +1 dagger that deals damage as if it were small (1d3). Whenever unsheathed, it coats itself in a poison called Creeping Death. Creeping Death is an Injury poison that - unlike other poisons - triggers a Fortitude save (DC 14) every round until the target makes two saves in a row. On a failed save, the target takes 1 Con damage. If the target fails 3 saves in a row, they immediately die.

Once any target has been hit, the knife must be sheathed again to recoat it in poison. If anyone licks the blade while it is coated in Creeping Death, they immediately get poisoned with the Creeping Death and count as having one failed save (including taking 1 Con damage).

The Creeping Death Knife is a unique item that cannot be replicated, but is not an artifact and thus may be destroyed or enhanced further as normal.

Prerequisites: N/A.
Cost to Create: Unique item, cannot be created.
