The fist-sized Star Ruby was a perfect orb, glistening from within. With a single touch, it leeched the life from him and the ruby came alive, bathed with light from within. Just as quickly, the life seeped back into him and the light dulled itself.
The Dragon's Hoard is a Star Ruby Orb about the size of a fist. As a full-round action, it can absorb 10 HP/round from any adjacent willing or helpless creature, up to a total of 100 HP from all sources. If it kills them in this manner, it's current reserve is doubled, disabling absorption until the excess HP is used. As a standard action, it's holder can absorb 3 times their HD in HP from the Hoard. It loses HP at a rate of 10 HP/Day, lost at midnight. If it holds more than 50 HP, it shines as a torch. If it is emptied, it must be used to kill a sentient creature to reactivate it.
Prerequisites: Craft Wondrous Item, Hoard LifeRotD, Must be crafted with a Ruby worth 1,000 gp and immersed in Dragon's Blood.
Cost to Create: 7,500 gp, 300 EXP, 15 days.
