The ranger was glad to finally be about to solve this accursed puzzle. The last block just needed to be pushed a few feet further... As it slid to the far side of the room, he let out a wordless cry of frustration.

The ground immediately around the target is covered in magically slick ice. Any movement along the ground causes the target to continue moving at the same speed and direction without any actions being taken on its part. This is still counts as movement for all purposes, although if moving at 5' or less in a round does not provoke and if this is your only movement in a round, you may still take a 5' step.

The movement continues until movement is stopped by an outside force (such as a wall or a grapple) or actions are taken to reduce or change it, with the speed being changed at a one-to-one rate (so if the target were moving 40' a round north, and they spent 10' of movement to move south and 10' of movement to move east, they'd now be moving 30' a round north and 10' a round east in as straight a line as possible). Movement not taken on the ground (such as a jump, flight, or teleportation) do not affect your speed when you return to the ground. Any movement in a direction (as low as 5') from this spell allows you to count as having a running jump in a given direction.

Due to a peculiarity of the ice, slopes in no way affect the target's speed on it, neither causing you to travel down a slope if standing still nor increasing or decreasing the target's speed, or changing the target's direction due to slopes. Magic is weird like that sometimes. Wizards sometimes use this spell to travel far distances quickly, but that can be potentially hazardous.

If cast in a spell slot two levels higher the duration becomes 10 minutes/level.
