Jerri's Random Self Polymorph
Transmutation [Fear]
Level: Sorcerer/Wizard 3
Components: V, S
Casting time: 1 standard action (See text)
Range: Personal
Target: Self
Duration: 1 round/level
Saving Throw: None (See text)

As you swish your wrist, your arm extends into a tentacle. Everyone around you looks on in horror or distaste as you practically explode into an amalgamation of parts.

This spell functions like Polymorph, except that it doesn't in a great many ways. The most important changes are that the creature that is the end result is - to some extent - randomly determined, and that the "creature" into which the caster is changed possesses three "components". First, roll 3d12, applying a +2 to the first roll and a -1 to the third roll to determine the various creature types of the end portions.

Creature Type
Result Creature Type
0 Humanoid
1 Animal
2 Vermin
3 Monstrous Humanoid
4 Fey
5 Giant
6 Construct
7 Undead
8 Plant
9 Elemental
10 Magical Beast
11 Ooze
12 Outsider
13 Aberration
14 Dragon

After the three creature types have been established, roll 3d20 on the following table to determine CR of the copied creature components.

Creature Component CR
Result Primary Component CR Secondary Component CR Tertiary Component CR
1 CR - 4 CR - 5 CR - 6
2-5 CR - 3 CR - 4 CR - 5
6-15 CR - 2 CR - 3 CR - 4
16-19 CR - 1 CR - 2 CR - 3
20 CR CR - 1 CR - 2

After CRs have been determined, a creature may be selected as is the norm with the Polymorph line of spells. The primary component (the first roll for both type and CR) determines the stat block used for the creature, up to and including physical ability scores, however the caster does not receive any special qualities, special attacks, or movement speeds from the primary component. The secondary component determines the special qualities and movement speeds of the end creature. The tertiary component determines the special attacks.

In addition, the transformation is both incredibly painful and horrifying and ends the casters turn when cast, and causes a Will save vs. shaken against all creatures within 30'. This is a [Fear] effect, but it is not [Mind-Affecting].

The caster may not make immediate actions or attacks of opportunity until the beginning of his or her next turn.

Special: If a roll would result in an impossible combination (such as anything with a CR of 0 or below), reroll the entirety of that component.
