These unusual undead are the result of humanoid dying of overwork, anxiety or stress in particularly gnarly conditions. A karōshin are corporeal undead, looking like the creature did in life but pale as if they suffered from severe blood loss and having constantly depressed facial expression and slow tired gait. They are found either working on their old profession, doing no meaningful progress or sleeping constantly.
A karōshin will attack living creatures that get too close (usually within 60 feet) as well as any creature which either wake them or interrupt their work. When a karōshin is provoked, it tired expression vanish and it eyes and mouth become black voids which devour all matter.
Combat[edit]
Upon being provoked, a a karōshin will immediately use it reckless rage and tear those who disturbed it to pieces. They long to be freed of their miserable unlife and thus always fight to the death and never retreat.
Restless Rage (Ex): As a free action a Karōshin can place itself under the effect of a Barbarian's Rage with unlimited duration, during that time it is also under the effect of haste. Once a Karōshin is done raging it will fall asleep for 2 rounds for each round it raged or until disturbed, whichever happen first.
Void Bite (Ex): A Karōshin's bite carry a powerful disintegrating effect, dealing an extra 2d6 damage which ignore DR and isn't halved before hardness. The karōshin's bite has a 20/x4 critical multiplier.
Slavering Devotion (Ex): If a Karōshin is given a command or order to do anything but it work, it will abandon that command within 1d4+1 minutes to return to it work. Thus they make very limited tools for necromancer.
