Lord of the Rose is a novel by Douglas Niles. It begins in the year 42 sc (second cataclysm) after the start of the War of Souls.
Prologue[edit]
The prologue begins with a review of general events that occurred from the the end of the chaos war including the fact that Paladine now walks as a mortal among the races of Krynn. The Orders of the Dark Knights are in disarray. Lord Tasgall, Chairman of the Whitestone Council, who remained in Sanction, appointed Lord Regent Bakkard du Chagne as ruling mayor of Palanthas. After establishing Lord Hubert and subsequently his son Lord Crawford as Lord of Caergoth, Lord Regent Bakkard du Chagne also set up Duke Jarrod as Lord of Thelgaard and Duke Rathskell as Lord of Solanthus.
Plot[edit]
The story starts with Jaymes Markham and the dwarf Dram Feldspar on the road to the Stronghold of Cornellus to meet with Cornellus the Large. Their Purpose is to receive the bounty on a score of Goblins and extract information and the full name of Brilliss. It turns out that Brilliss is really Brillissander Firesplasher a gnome who may or may not dwell in the Gnome Ghetto in the city of Caergoth, a fight ensues with Cornellus the Large and his draconian minions Jaymes and Dram escape to Garnet and in turn to Caergoth.
