Balance Point[edit]

This guy can craft 9th level spell potions for 2000 gp, and then drink them as an immediate action. The only reason I can't conclusively say this is overpowered (at High balance) is because I haven't managed to find any non-Personal spells that would be worth it. --Foxwarrior (talk) 03:14, 12 December 2012 (UTC)

The battle chemist can only duplicate spells as if he were a spellcaster of his Craft Alchemy ranks -3. As a result, he needs to have 20 ranks to make 9th level spells, or in other words be level 17. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 03:58, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
9th level spells at level 17 is frequently considered Very High balance. 9th level spells at level 17 that you cast as an immediate action with a caster level of 22 are generally considered pretty good for a Very High character. --Foxwarrior (talk) 04:14, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
Oh, and the Battle Chemist seems to be entirely balanced via length of downtime (50% cost reduction and no XP cost means they can craft for 1000 gp a day, so they can afford to create one 9th level CL 17 potion every 4 days, which is either a fair bit or very very little depending on the campaign). --Foxwarrior (talk) 04:19, 12 December 2012 (UTC)
