Particularly on a cantrip, this seems to prompt an all-to-easy trip dumpster-diving the monster manuals for problems. Setting aside the gimmicky options (Myconid Sprout or Tressym), With this spell a first level character can provide a mount (Camel or Vulture for a small creature) or deal a fairly consistent 3d4 poison damage per round (Flying Snake).
