While there's a few things in the feat that rub me the wrong way because of their magnitude and the level you can get them at (as explained below), overall I really like it. It does some good things for archetypes that don't get a lot of support in the game otherwise.

A definitive replacement for endurance, not only is it not painful to take but I often find myself taking it even if it not part of prerequisites of a PrC or feat im going for.

(Edit) Significantly less attractive option now, first concern is that not all game allow [skill] feats, also as far as [skill] feat goes it weaker than most. Some of the effect just come in too late, you won't not need the 14 rank benefit at level 11. Third is that it scale with a skill the fighter doesn't have as a class skill, the only one who can really benefits for it is the barbarian and the ranger now.

I liked the older version quite better.

Many games don't allow whole redo of feats either, and I find DMs are better with things that unlock normally, rather than dump everything on you at once. With that said, I've fixed #3, and maybe #2.

Also, as far as being weaker or stronger than similar options... that's a matter for balance ranges, and I don't think it should factor into a rating. If you think the content is too weak for its rating, we can discuss that, but just saying that it's weaker than other scaling feats just because it uses the same template (which you could also argue regarding the Spymaster feat, which you've used in some of your other feats, and is definitely weaker than this feat except in niche campaigns) doesn't help too much. --Ghostwheel (talk) 23:12, 25 September 2015 (UTC)

It may be a laundry list of effects, but that's only because it has to solve a laundry list of disparate and diverse problems.

Comments[edit]

2 hours per point of con... so any character who takes this feat can hold their breath all day before they start to make checks? I'm not sure I want to complain and I don't think it's out of balance lines, it just seems pretty out of character given the rest of the feat is not boosting abilities by several orders of magnitude (2 rounds -> 1200 rounds). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tarkisflux (talkcontribs) at

Ok, I've decided to complain a bit after re-reading endure elements. Any level 1 character with 13 Con can run around Antarctica naked and only need to breathe once a day (more if he wants to talk or cast a spell I guess). That's pretty non-mundane for level 1 via feat, and strikes me as a bit dissonant. Similarly, the running change is a 4x boost, the lifting change is ~2x boost, the breathing change is a 600x boost, and I'm not really sure how to measure the elements change but it's not small fluffwise. The magnitude of these is just inconsistent.
I'm about to like this anyway in spite of these concerns (I don't want them in the rating), but I wanted to point them out. I don't know if you'd consider reducing the breathing thing and the elements range or not, but I think it would make a feat better suited to the prereqs. If the full values are important, they could be fit in via scaling or another feat with higher prereqs. - Tarkisflux Talk 17:27, 6 November 2014 (UTC)
