Talk:Harvestfolk (3.5e Race)

Some comments[edit]
I like the idea behind this race, and I like their racial traits: simple and effective. I would advise though to make a small change if you want to give them the Fey type, since that, as any other type, is immune to most things that affect humanoid, beside giving additional benefits, I would either give it a +1 to LA, as many races do, or try to nerf it, maybe by giving the spiritfolk subtype, especially because, while they have quite substantial debuff (-2 to Str or Con, being treated worse by others), they also have quite versatile traits, and at-will magic.
Also, I think the article could benefit of more in-depth description of the harvestfolk, especially of how they look. --The bluez in the dungeon (talk) 14:50, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
- To disagree a little đ€ on the Fey type angle, the Fey type doesn't grant any immunities at all, except to a couple of spells: enlarge person, which is a nice low-level buff, and charm person and dominate person which are spells the DM should be using on party members very sparingly and definitely not on all of them at once. If the Fey type is too strong (it isn't), you might as well just ban all non-humanoid races.
- And, speaking as the person who wrote 50% of all playable LA +1 races in D&D 3.5e yesterday, I think I can confidently say that giving +1 LA is not a feasible option for a race like this. --Foxwarrior (talk) 18:04, 25 October 2024 (UTC)
