Mechanics And Such[edit]
This is a reeeeally long invocation, and very complicated on some aspects. If anyone has an idea of how to clean it up and make it more streamlined without getting rid of any of the mechanical functions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks. Zhenra-Khal (talk) 10:23, 4 December 2016 (UTC)

- Well, that was fast. Thank you, friend; Though 'tis hardly necessary if it would be a trouble to you. Zhenra-Khal (talk) 10:49, 4 December 2016 (UTC)
- Honestly I'd divide it in like two or three invocation, cause right now it doing a lot. It honestly a bit jarring coming from a lesser invocation and it so expensive it will make players and DM think twice before using it. In any case is what I would do:
- "You gain the ability to skirt the plane of shadow, much like a lesser version of shadow walk. In shadowy illumination or darker your land speed double and you do not provoke attack of opportunity from movement, however effect which block teleportation or planar travel also prevent this invocation from working. While this Invocation is active you also possess a 50% miss chance which is bypassed by anything which can hit incorporeal creature, suffer from light blindness and count as a light-sensitive undead for the purpose of being affected by [light] spells and ability. This Invocation last 24 hours but can be dismissed as a move action, it is dispelled by any [light] effect of 3rd level or higher."
- Have the fluff text on top and try to minimize the mechanical change, so far it much more complex than most spells and even many class abilities. Sometime it better to just cut abilities which doe not need to be there and instead expand on them on their own later as new abilities.--Leziad (talk) 17:37, 14 December 2016 (MST)
- Currently it's supposed to function as a form of Shadow Jump, + movement speed bonus and Scorn Earth in darkness/dim illumination. It should be moved to Greater for Warlock, or possibly not be available to Warlock at all, because I'm using it currently as a first-level bonus invocation gained by a Warlock + Shadowcaster PrC I'm building and haven't finished yet. The Shadow Jump ability of this invocation can simply be moved to a different invocation or such.
- As for simply doubling movement speed, I wanted the whole invocation to scale with your power level, which while powerful is something I'm tired of not seeing, honestly. Zhenra-Khal (talk) 07:35, 15 December 2016 (MST)
- I changed it; It's currently only available to Umbral Warlocks, as a Greater invocation. Zhenra-Khal (talk) 14:16, 15 December 2016 (MST)
