Why isn't this a trait?[edit]

Yes, you gain some cool stuff... At the cost of a magic item slot. Most feats are made of only benefits, only ones WoTC tries to paint as "Bad Guy" feats come with downsides. Y'know, deformity, feats for wannabe fiends, some vile feats. While some feats also have downsides(Exalted feats sometimes have downsides, mostly vows), what you gain is often way more then what you give up(Vow of Poverty, anyone?), so a feat giving up a magic item slot seems kind of dumb to me, especially when what you gain is mostly flavor.

Why would it be fine as a trait? Because this is a waste of a feat, I lose more then I could possibly gain. But traits often are like that, giving you some +1s or a +2 at the cost of a -2 or a -3, or even a -4. Traits are a mixed bag. Kind of good, kind of bad. Having a badass snake tail is cool, losing a magic item slot is a big deal for non-casters(it's a big deal for casters as well, but less of one when you can just cast a spell which bypasses the need for a magic item).--YX33A (talk) 00:48, 5 February 2013 (UTC)

Also, should this give the Anthro Subtype? I personally think it should, and usually act as though it does. I mean, it's not a HUGE deal if it doesn't, just makes sense. Or at least, it makes sense to me, seeing as it makes people into snake people.--YX33A (talk) 03:26, 5 February 2013 (UTC)
I will debate about trait-hood, but for the anthro bit, I'd say this is more taurism (human upper half, animal lower half) than anthro (animal with human traits/body plan). -- Eiji-kun (talk) 08:22, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
