Eiji, is there a reason why this ACF keeps the standard monk's exotic weapon proficiencies rather that providing proficiency with exotic staffs? -Amdillae (talk) 9:07 23 January 2018 (UTC)

Its generally assumed you're just using a quarterstaff, which you already are proficient in. I could see you trading out monk exotics in favor of exotic quarterstaff weapons. Such a trade is undoubtedly an upgrade though. Consider this support for an unofficial Alternate-Alternate Class Feature. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 01:09, 23 January 2018 (MST)
Um, how does Staff Launcher work? It uses Stunning Fist attempts when it is impossible for the ACF to have Stunning Fist, since it replaces the 1st level bonus feat . -Amdillae (talk) 10:35 25 January 2018 (UTC)
You can always use your 2nd feat to pick up Stunning Fist, nothing forces you to make it your first. But in this case that is not needed: Stunning Fist attempts are 1/class level. The SRD:Monk doesn't spell it out as clearly but subsequent monk related feats and the PF Monk do spell out that Stunning Fist attempts, usually referred to as ki, is something the monk has even if they don't have an outlet for it like the Stunning Fist feat, or the couple feats which draw from the same pool. Unfortunately I can't find an exact quote so while I am certain I am correct its probably good to reword that to be clear. Thinking... -- Eiji-kun (talk) 15:40, 25 January 2018 (MST)
