Change of conditions?[edit]

Just wondering - what status condition most closely fits someone who's been hit by a tazer? I'm pretty sure a taser victim drops to the ground and starts flopping around involuntarily, unable to move according to their own will but instead stuck in place by their muscles going haywire and not doing anything productive. My first instinct was paralysis, but a taser victim isn't exactly rigid; quite the opposite, really. I dunno - what's the best status condition for this spell to inflict? --Luigifan18 (talk) 03:08, 23 September 2015 (UTC)

Stunning. They can't move, but aren't helpless. They drop their weapons. They can take no actions (except to shake and go "don't taze me bro!") -- Eiji-kun (talk) 03:37, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
I considered that, but I'm pretty sure someone who gets tazed is helpless. I'm trying to be relatively realistic with this. --Luigifan18 (talk) 04:01, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
I would disagree. While certainly immobile from a walking standpoint, they are moving too much around (voluntary or not) to try and get a clean coup de grace cut. That, and from a mechanical standpoint it probably would add significant power behind it if they were. You can, if you like, do both stunned AND prone to handle the fact you often cannot stand. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 04:06, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
By the by, I have some issues with this spell but I'm holding off until it's finalized. Until then, I recommend taking a peek at the pre-existing spell on SpC, Stun Ray. It is not unlike what you're pulling off here, and may pre-emptively make you aware of some of the issues I'm going to have. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 04:11, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
Touche... I suppose someone who gets tazed is moving around too much for a clean coup de grace. (And, wait, stun ray? I think I forgot about that one.) (By the way, I have some other articles, Yin-Yang Emblem and Mark of the Porcine Demon, that I've been awaiting some feedback on.) --Luigifan18 (talk) 04:16, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
Working, but I'll run by them at some point.
Stun Ray, SpC, 7th level, ray with Fort partial, stun for 1d4+1 rounds vs 1 round on save, faces the fact that stunning immunity is more common at 13th level+ and and electricity immunity also stops it. The comparisons to this one should be obvious. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 05:18, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
(EDIT: Ah, incarnum. I would have to brush up on my incarnum before making any judgment calls on them.) -- Eiji-kun (talk) 05:23, 23 September 2015 (UTC)
