Yes, yes, a thousand times yes! IMO, this is how teleportation should work; this is an excellent spell that lets casters get from one place to another quickly without necessarily bypassing plot points, while allowing DMs to stop instantaneous movement to key plot points by having genre-savvy NPCs destroy an anchor. Thumbs up all the way! |

For all the reasons above. I've used this in a game embedded in an item (rather than as an available spell). It was available from level 1 and it worked well. I included a couple other spells that allowed areas to null teleport zones and delay teleportation. I think I will add those to the wiki now... Either way, the waypoint method for teleporting is more fun for the players (they have reason to travel all over your world and set up anchors) and it is less of a headache for the GM. |
