With a flick of the wrist and a squeezing motion of the fingers, the caster leaves their target's tongue in a loop, abruptly aborting their complex speech with a choke.

This spell has two modes: it can either be used to foul verbal components, or to ruin the speech of another individual.

Foul Verbal Component

This can be used in response to Step 1d of any spell. The target becomes unable to provide verbal components for the ability if the Will save is failed, which causes the spell to fail.

Enhanced: The target receives a -4 penalty to their Will save.

Diminished: The target receives a +4 bonus to their Will save.

Immune: No effect.

Ruin Speech

This can be used in response to Step 1c of any ability that requires the target to speak with precision. This includes, but is not limited to, abilities with the [Sonic] tag and many uses of the Affability and Bluff skill. If the Will save for this spell is failed, any dice rolls related to the ability must be rolled twice, with the least-favourable results to the target being taken.

Enhanced: The duration of this spell becomes 1 round, and affects all appropriate abilities throughout this time. New Will saves are not made - the effect of a failed save remains.

Diminished: The target receives a +4 bonus to their Will save.

Immune: No effect.
