Meteorological Channeler

While some druids dedicate themselves to the storm, a few are able to channel the entire spectrum of meteorological phenomena. These druids become masters of air magic, as well as gaining control over extremely localized weather.

Class: Druid

Level: 1st-20th

Replaces: Nature Bond, Spontaneous Casting, Wild Empathy, Woodland Stride, Trackless Step, Resist Nature’s Lure, Wild Shape, Venom Immunity, Thousand Faces.

Benefit: A meteorological channeler gains the following class features.

Spontaneous Weather (Ex): A meteorological channeler can cast the following spell spontaneously, much like a normal druid can spontaneously cast summon nature's ally: 1st—read weather, 2nd—dousing rain, 3rd—gale force, 4th—sleet storm, 5th—control winds, 6th—sirocco, 7th—control weather, 8th—whirlwind, 9th—atmospheric press.

This ability replaces a druid's ability to spontaneously cast summon nature's ally spells.

Bad Weather (Su): A meteorological channeler is able to channel the weather in such a way to create an extremely localized area of intense weather. This ability functions just like the Calamity Caller's Calamity class feature, except that the meteorological channeler does not have access to deadfall, thorny vines and volcanic rift calamities. Instead she gain access to the two following bad weather:

Battering Winds: A cyclonic rifts batters and beats down anyone in the square. A battering wind deals bludgeoning damage, with a Reflex save for half damage. A creature that fails its save against an enhanced battering wind is knocked prone; and is unable to get up for 1 round. At the start of each of its turns, the target can make a Strength check with the same DC as your calamities to be able to get up.

Scorching Downdraft: A blistering air current blast from above, dealing fire damage to the target square, with a Fortitude save for half damage. An enhanced scorching downdraft leaves anyone who fails their save fatigued for 1 round. If the target is already fatigued it become exhausted for the same duration instead.

Bad weather counts as calamity for all intent and purposes. A calamity caller and meteorological channeler levels stack together for the purpose of determining the effect of bad weather/calamity.

This ability replaces wild empathy, nature bond and wild shape.

Windwalker (Ex): At 2nd level, the penalties from natural or magical wind effects are treated as one step less severe for a meteorological channeler.

This ability replaces woodland stride.

Expanded Air Access (Ex): A 3rd level meteorological channeler add the spells from the Elemental School of Air to her spell list, allowing her to prepare and cast them. If a spell appears on both air and druid spell list, the meteorological channeler uses the one of the lower spell level.

This ability replaces trackless steps, venom immunity and a thousand faces.

Atmospheric Resistance (Ex): At 4th level a meteorological channeler gains a +2 bonus on saving throws caused by natural or magical weather.

This ability replaces resist nature’s lure.

Worst Weather (Ex): At 20th level, a creature affected by a meteorological channeler's enhanced bad weather does not receive a save to reduce the damage or avoid the bad weather ’s effects.

This replaces wild shape (at will).
