Encore[edit]

In the spells section is a spell called "Encore" which lets someone go twice in a round. Hypothetically, a pair of casters could constantly cast this spell on themselves. What limitations, if any, should be imposed to keep this balanced? I'm sort of feeling that due to spells per day it may be more acceptable, but it could probably still use some work. I'm open to suggestions. - TG Cid 00:45, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Cooldown of a round between when you can cast it and be affected by it? So you can only be affected or cast it 1 time in a round and then you have to wait until the round after the next. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Idkwhatmynameis (talkcontribs) at
If this was a supernatural ability gained as a class feature, I would agree that that would be a viable solution. But I feel that spells normally aren't regulated in that fashion, which is why I am hesitant to impose such a limitation in this case. My initial thought was to make the casting time a full-round action, but with the Tome Bard's quickening effects that could be circumvented rather easily. Perhaps making it repeat its last actions would be less abuseable, but the psychic power deja vu already does that. Which makes me sad. - TG Cid 23:29, 22 October 2010 (UTC)

Megenjin[edit]

As for the parlor trick nature of Makoto Shishio's attacks, he had one significant ability that didn't feel like a parlor trick that anyone could have done without the whole "having your skin burned off" deal. His body constantly heating up fueled greater strength and power, but limited the time he could fight. Perhaps you could turn this into a mechanic where certain actions (like, full attack or the special abilities of the class) increased your strength by +1, but for every strength point gained this way that exceeded your Mugenjin level, you took 1d6 fire damage per round. And this class ability couldn't be used at all if you currently had any resistance or immunity to fire damage. Just a wild idea, with little thought put into the exact numbers.
