With a decidedly un-olympian gait, this docile, disk-shaped bot lumbers across the office floor, sucking up any and all dust and clutter in its path.

Latest in a line of automated housekeeping bots, the Vacu-Boy 900+ series is equipped with all-new, state-of-the-art floor cleaning technology, is easy to install and program and comes with its own proprietary charging dock. It is roughly 13 inches across, a little under 4 inches tall, and weighs 8 to 10 pounds. Warning: may be used as a seat by housecats.

Combat[edit]

When met with hostilities, the Vacu-Boy's general response is to ignore any danger and continue vacuuming the floor, since it lacks any offensive or defensive protocols. Though if given the opportunity it may attempt to suck up something the attacker cares about.

Sensors (Ex): A Vacu-Boy's standard sensor pack is very rudimentary, designed solely to map out a viable path throughout the rooms it is programmed to clean and cover 100% of the surface of the floor while doing so. However, for an additional 15 gp in price, it may be outfitted with a security sensor pack that can detect any movement within 15 feet and trip a silent alarm that sends a pulse to up to 3 specific bots within 200 feet of the Vacu-Boy's position when its sensors are triggered by something of Small size or larger. Nobody suspects the roomba, after all.

Vacuum (Ex): As the Vacu-Boy passes, it will attempt to suck up everything Fine-sized or smaller in its wake. Against creatures of such size, it automatically attempts a touch attack at a modifier of +2, followed by opposed grapple checks. If grappled, a creature is swallowed within the Vacu-Boy's space. A swallowed creature may attempt to bash or cut its way out if it has the ability, requiring to do 1 or more damage to the roomba from within (post-damage reduction) to do so, though being swallowed inside does not do any damage.

A roomba can vacuum a 10-foot square within 1d3 minutes. For very large floors, this averages out at about 2 minutes per 100 square feet.

Battery Life: A Vacu-Boy has a battery life of 6 hours. For every hour it runs its pre-programmed cleaning routine, it must recharge a total of 3 hours, up to a maximum of 18 hours. To recharge, it must be able to return to its charging dock.

Programming: Besides its regular floor-cleaning programming, the Vacu-Boy possesses the following standard programs: Collect, Search, and Reposition.

Construction and Cost[edit]

A Vacu-Boy may be constructed by any savvy engineer. It is comprised of an aluminum chassis and an aesthetically pleasing polycarbonate exterior that is available in a multitude of colours and designs. The cost of the material components are worth 12 gp and 5 sp (20 gp if motion sensors and the silent alarm are included).

Assembling the body requires a DC 17 Craft (technology) check, a DC 17 Knowledge (engineering), or a DC 17 Knowledge (xeno) check.

CL 3rd; Craft Construct, guidance, gust of wind; Price 25 gp (40 gp with sensors and silent alarm); Cost 12½ or 20 gp + 1 or 2 XP.
