Summary: These mages tap the power of the universe through study of the mystic arts.
Creating a Wizard[edit]

Primary Ability: Intelligence
To create a Wizard, consult the following lists, which provide Hit Points, Proficiencies, and Armor Training. If you’re making a 1st-level character, also consult the “Starting Equipment” section, and if you’re using the multiclassing rules, see the “Multiclassing and the Wizard” section.
Then look at the Wizard table to see the Class Features you get at each level in this Class. The descriptions of those features appear in the “Wizard Class Features” section.
Hit Points[edit]
Hit Dice: 1d6 per Wizard level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 6 + your Constitution modifier
Hit Points per Level after 1st: 1d6 (or 4) + your Constitution modifier
Proficiencies[edit]
Saving Throws: Intelligence, Wisdom.
Skills: Choose 2 from Arcana, Deception, History, Insight, Investigation, Medicine, Religion.
Weapons: Simple Weapons
Tools: None

Starting Equipment[edit]
As a 1st-level character, you start with the following equipment, or you can forgo it and spend 50 GP on equipment of your choice. Arcane Focus (Quarterstaff), Dagger (2), Robe, Scholar's Pack, 5 GP

Spellcasting[edit]

1st, 4th, and 10th level Wizard feature
Summary: You can cast spells.
- Cantrips. You know 3 Arcane cantrips. You gain more at higher levels.
- Spell Slots. You gain Spell Slots (see Wizard Overview table) you can use to cast spells.
- Prepared Spells of 1st+ Level. Each day you prepare a number of spells from your spellbook (see Wizard Overview table).
- Changing Your Prepared Spells. After a Long Rest, you can spend 1 minute per level to prepare spells.
- Spellcasting Ability. Intelligence is your spellcasting ability.
- Spellcasting Focus. You can use an Arcane Focus as a Spellcasting Focus.
Wizard's Spellbook[edit]
1st level Wizard feature
Summary: You record your spells in your spellbook using Scribe Spell.
- Known Spells. Your spellbook contains all of the Arcane and Wizard spells of 1st level and higher.
- Ritual Caster. You can cast ritual spells from your spellbook without preparing them.
- Creating Another Spellbook. You can create another spellbook (or replace a destroyed one) using Scribe Spell.

Summary: Gain Advantage on Intelligence checks used with the Study action.
Arcane Recovery[edit]

Summary: Recover a limited amount of Spell Slots at end of a Short Rest once per day.
Wizard Subclass[edit]

Summary: You gain a Wizard subclass of your choice.
