A roboticist is a master at making constructs, especially crafting them. They are also extremely proficient at fighting constructs and when rightly geared can make awesome magic items.

All of the following are class features of the Codex Roboticist.

'''Weapon and Armor Proficiency:''' A roboticist is proficient with all simple weapons, plus the greatclub, light hammer, light and heavy picks, warhammer, and all forms of crossbows (including exotic crossbows). Roboticists are proficient with light armor and shields (except tower shields). A roboticist can cast roboticist spells while wearing light armor or using shields (but not tower shields) without incurring the normal arcane spell failure chance. However, like any other arcane spellcaster, a roboticist wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield incurs a chance of arcane spell failure if the spell in question has a somatic component (most do). A multiclassing roboticist still incurs the normal arcane spell failure chance for arcane spells received from other classes.

'''{{Anchor|Spells}}:''' A codex roboticist casts arcane spells which are drawn from the codex roboticist spell list.  A codex roboticist must choose and prepare her spells ahead of time like a [[wizard]].  To learn, prepare, or cast a spell, the codex roboticist must have an [[Intelligence]] score equal to at least 10 + the spell level.  The Difficulty Class for a saving throw against a constructor's spell is 10 + the spell level + the codex roboticist's [[Intelligence]] modifier.

Like other spellcasters, a constructor can cast only a certain number of spells of each spell level per day. Her base daily spell allotment is given on Table: The Codex Roboticist.  In addition, she receives bonus spells per day if she has a high [[Intelligence]] score.  Unlike a [[bard]] or [[sorcerer]], a constructor may know any number of spells.  She must choose and prepare her spells ahead of time by getting a good night's sleep and spending 1 hour studying her schematic codex. While studying, the codex roboticist decides which spells to prepare.
