Design Note: Magic Items for Unarmed Strikes and Improvised Weapons
The 2024 Dungeon Master's Guide will include magic items that enhance Unarmed Strikes and Improvised Weapons. These items will support the Monk, Brawler Fighter, and College of Dance Bard, along with other characters who rely on Unarmed Strikes or Improvised Weapons.

Brawler is a brawler of the Fighter class.

This martial path focuses Unarmed Strikes and Improvised Weapons. Brawler Features

Fighter Level	Features
3rd	Unarmed Expert, Improvised Expert
7th	Grappling Expert
10th	Dirty Fighting
15th	Improvised Specialist
18th	Unarmed Specialist

 

Subclass Features

Unarmed Expert

3rd Feature
Summary: Buff Unarmed Strike damage (more if unarmed and not holding a shield). 

Improvised Expert

3rd Feature
Summary: Gain proficiency in Improvised Weapons. In addition, you can assign certain weapon properties and Mastery properties to improvised weapons. 

Grappling Expert

7th Feature
Summary: Can use a Bonus Action to Grapple or Shove an opponent. Additionally, you can cause damage to a creature you have Grappled each turn. 

Dirty Fighting

10th Feature
Summary: Gain Advantage against creatures you have grappled with Improvised Weapons and Unarmed Strikes. 

Improvised Specialist

15th Feature
Summary: Buff damage with Improvised Weapons and assign an additional Mastery property to them. 

Ultimate Combat Superiority

18th Feature
Summary: Increase damage from Unarmed Strikes even more.
