This is a little too much for level 1 and 2 I feel. Nothing at that level has spell resistance, and since you'll be doing 26.25 damage over 7.5 rounds on average, barring the leaving you with 1 hp, this is pretty much an unavoidable oneshot at those levels. With this spell, a fresh level 1 wizard and a level 1 rogue could probably beat the majority of CR5 monsters that don't have fast healing by just using power word pain over and over, kiting it till it reaches 1 hp, and then cherry tapping it for one point of damage with like a bow or a caltrop to finish it off. | This is a little too much for level 1 and 2 I feel.
- It a nerfed version of the original spell, which does not requiring tapping them on the shoulder. I have an idea, what if enough healing stopped the degenerative process? --Leziad (talk) 10:53, 16 February 2019 (MST)
- I do agree that it's still a lot, but it is significantly weaker than the original spell. --Undead_Knave (talk) 11:29, 16 February 2019 (MST)
- Unless you catch it on turn 1, that is an absurd amount of healing to require. --Undead_Knave (talk) 23:35, 16 February 2019 (MST)
(RESET INDENT) You're probably right, but I kept the title. A Power Word Suffer which does what you describe is totes legit, with this being "Power Word Damage". I kept it for the sake of being obvious it's a replacement. -- Eiji-kun (talk) 14:11, 17 February 2019 (MST)
