A vorpal weapon is able to easily slay opponents in one-hit, especially if they are weak. When a natural 20 is rolled with a vorpal weapon, the critical multiplier of the weapon is increased to ×4. Furthermore, if the vorpal weapon is used to deal damage to a creature with 30 hit points or less, or reduce a creature to that threshold, the vorpal weapon automatically slays it. This secondary ability only works on corporeal creatures that can be dealt precision damage. Any effect which prevent death by hit point damage also prevent a vorpal weapon from instantly killing the target, such as unbypassed regeneration.
A creature slain by a vorpal weapon has it body considered too destroyed for being brought back from the dead through raise dead.
