Nobue, the founder of Dire Winter always had severe fear of being mind-controlled. She made sure she had harsh countermeasure if anyone attempted.
You may initiate this maneuver in response to being targeted by a mind-affecting spell. As you feel yourself lose control, you quickly freeze your own brain negating the effect and becoming immune to all mind-affecting effect for 1 round. However you are also dazed for 1 round, bypassing all of your immunities.
