Sealed Prodigy[edit]

Covered in mysterious locked bands, the Sealed Prodigy rips one off, tossing it to the ground with a massive explosion as his fists burst into flame. Sealed Prodigies lock away their inherent magic powers with ghostly energy bands that they summon, ready to release their power in a sudden burst as they grow stronger.

Making a Sealed Prodigy[edit]

Early in the day, Sealed Prodigies are psionic support blasters. In the evening, they're incarnum physical bruisers.

Abilities: Sealed Prodigies use Wisdom for unleashing their seals and Constitution for the effects of their broken seals.

Races: Creatures with a body are more likely to become Sealed Prodigies.

Alignment: Any.

Starting Gold: 2d12×10 gp (130 gp).

Starting Age: Moderate.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Sealed Prodigy.

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Sealed Prodigies are proficient with simple weapons, light and medium armor, and three martial weapons of their choice.

Seals: Sealed Prodigies bind away their power into Seals, unleashing them to do powerful things. Seals are sealed and prepared with an hour of meditation after a full night's rest. Each seal contains one psionic power, chosen from the psion/wilder list and modified by metapsionic feats and augmented when it is prepared, and one soulmeld, chosen from the totemist, soulborn, or incarnate list, optionally bound to a chakra chosen when it is prepared. As shown in the chart, two Seals are "strong", and have a higher manifester level, and consequently, sometimes more kinds of allowed chakra binds. The meldshaper level of a soulmeld is equal to the manifester level of the seal that contained it.

While the Seals are unbroken, the soulmelds contained within are inactive. Breaking a Seal consists of manifesting the power with the seal using the normal manifesting time, but with a Somatic component of ripping the seal off, causing the power to take effect and the soulmeld to appear. Power points for the power are provided by the Seal itself, an amount equal to the manifester level of the seal. As a swift action, they can reallocate their essentia investments.

Sealed Prodigies do not know psionic powers, and may prepare them freely off the psion/wilder list so long as they have a Wisdom score of at least 10 + the power's level, and their effective character level is at least equal to the manifester level of the power when it is unaugmented.

The save DCs of the Sealed Prodigy's psionic powers are 10 + half character level + Wisdom modifier, and the Save DCs of their soulmelds are 10 + half character level + Constitution modifier.

Sealed Aura (Ex): If the Sealed Prodigy has any broken Seals, they have an aura as a Cleric of their alignment. If all their Seals are unbroken, they do not detect as any alignment at all.

Ghostly Band Protection (Su): The Sealed Prodigy can block attacks from incorporeal creatures with their ghostly bands. They get a bonus to AC against attacks by incorporeal creatures equal to the number of Seals they have unbroken. This bonus to AC only applies while not denied their Dexterity bonus to armor class.

The sealed prodigy can also strike incorporeal creatures with their ghostly bands. Their unarmed attacks have the ghost touch property so long as they have at least one unbroken Seal.

Use Items: At level 3, the Sealed Prodigy can bind a soulmeld to a chakra and use it even if a magic item is also using that body slot.

Secret: At levels 5, 10, 15, and 20, the Sealed Prodigy learns a Secret from the following list:

Discipline: The Sealed Prodigy gains access to a psionic discipline from the psion/wilder list, and may prepare powers from that discipline.

Soulmeld Discipline: The Sealed Prodigy gains access to soulmelds from an additional class, such as Demonsouled or Sapphire Soul.

Bonus Feat: The Sealed Prodigy gains a bonus Incarnum, Psionic, Metapsionic, or Psionic Item Creation feat for which they meet the prerequisites.

Prestige Classing as a Sealed Prodigy[edit]

Any Prestige Class that advances the manifester level and powers known of a psionic class may advance the Seals of the Sealed Prodigy instead, increasing their count and manifester level as shown on the chart, with commensurate increase in possible chakra bind slots, and also increasing their Essentia capacity and total.
