Appraise (Int)[edit]

In addition to all of the normal uses of the Appraise skill that allow you to perceive the values of items, you are able to judge the items used by opponents in battle.

Identify[edit]

As a swift action, you may attempt to size up your opposition by examining the equipment of a single opponent within Close range, rolling an Appraise check against the DC’s for all of that creature‘s held magic items (10 + the caster level of the item‘s creator). If you succeed, you become aware of all the properties of the item, including its hardness, enhancements, and available charges or remaining uses of abilities (if applicable). If you are not in combat, you may use this skill to identify items without the use of the identify spell.

You may attempt to retry this check as many times as you like, provided you continue to take a swift action each turn to attempt identification.
