1. See Damage Increases by Size to calculate the damage for a weapon larger than Medium or smaller than Small.
2. Weight figures are for Medium weapons. A Small weapon weighs half as much, and a Large weapon weighs twice as much.
3. When two types are given, the weapon is both types if the entry specifies "and", either type (player's choice at time of attack) if the entry specifies "or", or each end of the double weapon is a different type if the entry specifies "/".
4. The hp value given is for Medium armor, weapons, and shields. Divide by 2 for each size category of the item smaller than Medium, or multiply it by 2 for each size category larger than Medium.

This special weapon is an extraordinary work of craft. It combines a battleaxe with a bass, allowing for incredible actions in which you shred the instrument while shredding your enemies into pieces. This weapon is especially beneficial to bards and such characters.

If you are proficient with it, you may perform the following maneuvers:

Battle Music: Due to its design, a bassaxe may be used to attack while using bardic music without any hindrance, despite being a two-handed weapon, if the user plays the bass. If the weapon has an enhancement bonus, its extra damage is Sonic damage and it overcomes objects' hardness.

Vibrate: Once per combat, or if you consume a bardic music use, or similar feature, you may produce a low frequency wave in 5 ft. (3 mt.), +5 ft. per enhancement bonus, around you. You make a Perform (bass) check, the result is the DC for the Concentration check casters must make to successfully cast. This effect lasts one round and costs a standard action. It affects everyone in the area, except for you. This effects deals your weapon damage + your Charisma modifier to cristalline creatures and objects, and anything weak to soundwaves.

A bassaxe is always a masterwork weapon and counts as a masterwork tool for Perform (bass) checks, giving a +2 competence bonus to the user. This is because they are fine instruments, custom made for each buyer.

A character with the bardic music ability, or similar ability, may count as having proficiency with this weapon for any purpose if they have always max ranks in Perform (bass).

If you lack exotic proficiency but you are proficient with any two-handed axe, you may use the bassaxe as such.
